수울래는 단지 술을 먹는 공간에 그치지 않고, 안타까운 역사로 인해 사라져가던 우리 술들의 다양성과 매력을 찾아가는 곳이 되길 바라는 마음에서 시작되었습니다.

그렇게 시작된 작은 마음이 더 멀리 나아가 우리 술에 담긴 흥미로운 역사를 알게 되고, 쌀 소비의 촉진과 전통주 시장의 활성화가 이어져 우리 술 문화의 발전과 양질의 개발로 확대되는 것을 목표로 합니다.

수울래가 지향하는 방향성에서 '티끌 모아 태산' 이라는 속담이 떠올랐습니다. 작은 활자 하나가 모여 글이 되고 글이 쌓이면 거대한 이야기가 되어 책이 만들어지듯이, 수많은 나무들이 모여 울창한 숲을 이루고 산을 뒤덮이듯이, 사소하고 작은 무언가가 무수히 쌓여 만들어지는 커다란 부피감과 깊이감, 밀도에 집중했습니다.

작은 재료들이 축적되어 만들어진 커다란 볼륨,
종이가 겹겹이 쌓이고 레이어드 된 하나의 면,
촛불과 작은 조명들이 채우는 빛의 밀도,
황동과 적동은 세월의 흔적들이 덧대어져 재료의 깊이감을 만들어갑니다.

수울래는 막다른 골목에 자리한 꼭대기 층에 위치해 있고, 현관-카운터-디스플레이-메인바-좌석 순으로 전이공간에서 확장된 공간으로 서서히 이동하게 됩니다.
공간에 대한 기대감과 호기심은 점점 증폭되고, 이동하면서 만나게 되는 새로운 공간들은 고객에게 다양한 장면들과 풍부한 경험을 만들어줍니다.
